How Evidation is using wearables data for 'the greater good'
We talk to the company that pays users money for healthy living
Every health and wearables app motivates users in different ways – but have you ever been paid for working out or making healthy decisions? That’s what US health app Evidation does.
Evidation is an app and research platform that rewards people for tracking and sharing wearable data.
The app offers points in return for logging daily health data, hitting goals, and completing workouts – and those points can be transferred into money.
But the company has a second, even more important mission.
Evidation has been at the forefront of research into medical conditions, including flu, migraines, autoimmune and metabolic health concerns, as well as women’s health conditions like endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
And it’s wearable data that fuels this innovative platform.
Evidation recently launched MigraineSmart, a service that maps reported migraine symptoms to wearables data to help people identify triggers, such as poor sleep, for their headaches.
In 2022, it launched FluSmart, a digital program that uses wearable and survey data to help individuals better understand their risk of flu.
“We’ve been pioneering the use of wearable data combined with other types of data since about 2010. Since then, we've had about 5 million members using our app,” said Meg Dryer, the General Manager of Consumer at Evidation, told PULSE by Wareable.
